"The future is in apps you don’t open."
I’m very bullish on the future of apps that are as frictionless as possible.
One of my favorite apps is Uber, precisely because it is so frictionless. You open it once, set your location for pickup and then you’re done.
The article cites Pay with Square as another example. In their case, you don’t even need to open up the app. The merchant’s checkout app just knows you’re there, you order, and you’re done.
It will be exciting to see the next stage of app development that continues to eliminate the opening of apps altogether.
